Memorandum of Understanding Between The Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York and the Seoul Bankruptcy Court 
 
 
The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York and the Bankruptcy Court of Seoul, Korea, have executed a Memorandum of Understanding and adopted mutually recognized cross-border insolvency laws and procedures based on the model law drafted by the United Nations Commission of International Trade law.  The link to the PDF can be found here.

 Community Outreach:  New York Southern Bankruptcy Free Legal Clinic

The Southern District of New York Bankruptcy Legal Clinic officially opened its doors to our consumers in September 2019.  The clinic was formed to assist current and potential litigants in chapter 7 and/or chapter 13 cases. The purpose of the clinic is to offer free legal assistance to unrepresented consumers at the pre-filing and post filing stages of bankruptcy. Consumers are given the opportunity to pre-schedule an appointment to meet with an experienced bankruptcy attorney for a free 30-minute consult. The 4 month pilot program began in September 2019 and continues to service consumers residing in the Southern District of New York.

To date, the feedback that we’ve received from the public has been extremely positive.
