Summary case information is available by telephone at 866-222-8029 for all cases filed or still pending after March 2000 at no charge. You will be asked to select a bankruptcy court district, press #68 or say New York Southern. Press 1 for instructions, press 2 to search by case number, press 3 to search by a participant's name, or press 4 to search by a debtor’s social security or tax ID number.
For cases filed after March 2000 or still pending on March 2000, docket information and all documents are available at http://ecf.nysb.uscourts.gov. A PACER account is required.

Free access to all databases above is available for free at all 3 Court locations. Cases filed prior to 1992 may not be available electronically. Hard copies of all case documents may be requested at any Court location.
Notice Regarding Records Retention of Archived Cases
General bankruptcy case files are retained by the court for a 15 year interval. Presently, most of the 1970-1995 bankruptcy case files have been destroyed in accordance with their approved records disposition authority (N1-578-11-001, in accordance with 44 USC § 3303).
