New Filing Requirements: On October 17, 2005, the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 (BAPCPA) went into effect. The BAPCPA resources page contains important information for filers (including links to information on the credit counseling and debtor education requirements, the poverty guidelines for in forma pauperis, means testing in chapter 7 cases, etc.); the resources page also includes links to those General Orders pertaining to the amended law.
