Self-Represented Individuals (Filing Without an Attorney)
Pending further notice, self-represented individuals may file documents with the court using the court's PDF Uploader tool. Please click here to file. Attorneys should file documents through CM/ECF.

Court filings and fees
Paper filings are accepted at drop boxes located in the lobby of the courthouse in each divisional office. Documents and any filing fees must be placed in a sealed envelope.
Payment must be made in the form of a money order or cashier’s check made payable to “Clerk, USBC, SDNY”. Please include contact information or case information if available in the memo section of the payment. Personal checks are not accepted. Cash payments will not be accepted at this time.
At this time, the Court is accepting all mail received by normal delivery procedure. Any mail sent to the Court must not require special handling. (i.e., signature required.) Mail that is marked for a required signature will not be accepted.
All mail for the Manhattan division must be delivered to the front entrance only.

Bankruptcy Legal Clinic

Interim Under Seal Filing Procedures
Upon filing the motion to seal and redact sealing document(s) on CM/ECF Next Gen, an electronic copy of the unredacted document(s) should also be submitted by email to the Clerk’s Office in a PDF File format to email@example.com. The header of the email should contain the case number, case name, and related document no(s), the body of the email should contain the information listed in the header, attorney contact information, and a description of the sealing document(s). The sealing party will be contacted at a future date for submission of hard copies and/or thumb drive storage devices.
