Important Reminder: ECF Event Codes in Chapter 15 Cases
Please be advised that the following ECF event codes must be used in Chapter 15 cases when seeking or contesting relief as outlined below. Use of these codes assists the Court in timely processing these matters and transmitting valuable statistical data to the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts.
Provisional Relief
When a foreign representative moves for provisional (i.e., pre-recognition) relief under 11 U.S.C. § 1519, counsel should use the following ECF event using the specified pathway:
- Bankruptcy → Motions/Applications → Motion, Provisional Relief under Section 1519
When a party objects to a motion for provisional relief, counsel should use the following ECF event using the specified pathway:
- Bankruptcy → Other → Objection to Provisional Relief under Section 1519
Recognition
When a party objects to the recognition of the foreign proceeding, counsel should use the following ECF event using the specified pathway:
- Bankruptcy → Other → Objection to Recognition of Foreign Proceeding
Post-Recognition Relief
When a foreign representative moves for post-recognition relief under 11 U.S.C. § 1521(a) and/or 11 U.S.C. § 1507, counsel should use the following ECF event using the specified pathway:
- Bankruptcy → Motions/Applications → Post-Recognition Relief under Section 1521 and/or 1507
When a party objects to a motion for post-recognition relief, counsel should use the following ECF event using the specified pathway:
- Bankruptcy → Other → Objection to Post-Recognition Relief under Section 1521 and/or 1507
