Gaining ECF Filing Privileges

Register to e-file as an Attorney

To request access to file electronically, an attorney must:

  1. have a PACER account before requesting an e-filing account.
     
  2. apply for e-filing privileges through PACER at https://pacer.uscourts.gov.

  3. upload evidence of valid membership of any state bar in the U.S. at:
    https://ecf.nysb.uscourts.gov/cgi-bin/registration.pl after you submit your application through PACER. Your application will be rejected if you fail to comply with this court requirement.

 

Register to e-file as a Limited User

To request a limited-access account to file electronically, a limited user must:

  1. have a PACER account before requesting an e-filing account.
     
  2. apply for e-filing privileges through PACER at https://pacer.uscourts.gov.

  3. sign, date and notarize the court's Limited User E-Filing Terms and Agreement.
     
  4. save the agreement as a pdf and upload the notarized terms and agreement at:
    https://ecf.nysb.uscourts.gov/cgi-bin/registrationLtd.pl after you submit your application through PACER. Your application will be rejected if you fail to comply with this court requirement.
