Notice of Fee Changes Effective June 1, 2014

The Judicial Conference of the United States recently approved several changes to the Bankruptcy Court Miscellaneous Fee Schedule (28 U.S.C. § 1930). The changes effective June 1, 2014 are:

  • The fee for filing a complaint will increase by $57 to $350;
     
  • The administrative fee for filing a petition under Chapter 7, 12, or 13 will increase by $29 to $75 (raising the total cost of filing a petition under Chapter 7 to $335, Chapter 12 to $275, and Chapter 13 to $310); and
     
  • The administrative fee for filing a petition under Chapter 9, 11, or 15 will increase by $504 to $550 (raising the total cost of filing a petition under Chapters 9, 11, and 15 to $1,717).
     

In addition, the following administrative fees will also increase effective June 1, 2014:

  • The administrative fee to file a motion to divide a joint Chapter 7, 12, or 13 case will increase by $29 to $75 (raising the cost to file a motion to divide a Chapter 7 case to $335, a Chapter 12 case to $275, and a Chapter 13 case to $310); and
     
  • The administrative fee to file a motion to divide a joint Chapter 11 case will increase by $504 to $550 (raising the cost to file a motion to divide a Chapter 11 case to $1,717).
     

Amendments to Official Bankruptcy Forms 3A (Application for Individuals to Pay the Filing Fee in Installments) and 3B (Application to Have the Chapter 7 Filing Fee Waived) to reflect the new filing fees will take effect on June 1, 2014.
