INSTITUTIONAL CREDITORS MAY NOW OBTAIN A LIMITED-ACCESS ECF ACCOUNT FOR FILING PROOFS OF CLAIM

Employees of institutional creditors may now obtain a limited-access account to electronically file proofs of claim on the Court's Electronic Case File (ECF) System. The limited-access account – intended for use by those who are not attorneys – may also be used to file: 1) other claims-related filings such as a claim transfer and 2) affidavits of service. The application form (revised as of 4/01/07) is now available on the Court's website.

Limited-Access Account Is Not Available for One-Time Filers: The limited-access account is intended for those who regularly file with the Court. It is not intended for one-time filers such as a creditor seeking to file its own proof of claim in a particular case.

Limited-Access Accounts Issued Prior to April 1, 2007: Those non-attorneys currently holding limited-access accounts issued prior to April 1, 2007 must now complete a new application on the revised application form if they wish to keep their account. The completed applications should be submitted to the Court no later than July 1, 2007. If the Court is not in receipt of a completed application by that date, the account will be terminated.

No Change to Attorney ECF Accounts: The current changes apply only to the limited-access accounts and the application form for obtaining such accounts. There are presently no changes to the ECF attorney application form or to attorney accounts.

PACER: Those seeking to obtain a limited-access account must establish an account with PACER (information pertaining to PACER is available on the Court’s website).
